David began writing fiction in 1994
when he conceptualized The Dying Game. While still in the planning
stages, he realized the finished work would approach 800
pages. Not wishing to write a first novel of that
size, he searched and evaluated the alternatives. The
twists and turns of the original concept had two plot
twists where the story changed directions. That's when the
idea of a trilogy was born. Click here the rest of
the history.

Doug Carlson, David's lovable main
character, is finally getting well-deserved
attention. He is 40-ish and pretty much an average
guy. Doug was also a Marine when he served in the
undeclared war in Vietnam, but that was a long time
ago. Since then much has
changed.
When the trilogy begins, Doug is a
comfortable banker whose life seems to be going nowhere;
that is until he meets Mr. C, a Mafia boss from Los
Angeles. Click

The thesis of The Dying Game trilogy proposes the
provocative question, "Do law-abiding people
kill?" David believes they do. Click
here to determine for yourself if the thesis is
realistic.
